Figure 21. A home found in the Jogok-dong neighborhood of Suncheon, which was built up in the 1930s by the Southern Joseon Railway Company. This home may date to that period and likely was housing for railway staff of the time. The pop-out bay windows and multi-gable roof were departures from "traditional" Japanese design, perhaps drawing from culture house thought or other housing reform ideas.
